How to Perform Injection Actuation Pressure Test for Caterpillar Machine

Cat ET diagnostic software support Injection Actuation Pressure Test function checks for leaks on all hydraulic components. This test allows the user to change the desired pressure and then view the actual pressure results.

Accessing
To run the Injection Actuation Pressure Test function, select “Diagnostic Tests” from the Diagnostics menu, and then select “Injection Actuation Pressure Test” from the submenu. The Injection Actuation Pressure Test screen is displayed.
 

Screen Layout
The Injection Actuation Pressure Test screen has the following areas:
 

Display Area
The Injection Actuation Pressure Test setup condition area has three columns: Description – Provides the name of the parameter set to run the test
Required Condition – Displays the value that the parameter must meet in order to run the test  Actual Value – Displays the actual value of the parameter listed in the Required Condition column
 

Status Parameter Area
The Injection Actuation Pressure Test status parameter area lists parameters and their current values and units of measure. The parameters listed in this area are dependent on the product being tested.
 

Status Line
Test status line indicates whether the test is "On" or "Off."
 

Buttons
The Buttons available in the Injection Actuation Pressure Test screen are: Start – Click this button to begin the Injection Actuation Pressure test
Stop – Click this button to stop testing
Step Up – Click this button to increase the desired pressure of the system. Note: This button is disabled once the pressure value is at its maximum. It may or may not be available based on the current ECM.
 

Step Down – Click this button to decrease the desired pressure of the system. Note: This button is disabled once the pressure value is at its minimum. It may or may not be available based on the current ECM.

Caterpillar Machine Map Adjustment Guide


Purpose
ECMs use maps to control the various operating points of the equipment. The Map Adjustment feature allows these existing maps to be modified.

Note: For more information on this feature, please see REHS3004 Special Instruction Using the Map Adjustment Software.
Accessing

To access the Map Adjustment feature, select “Map Adjustment” from the Service menu. The Map Adjustment screen is displayed.

The Map Adjustment screen consists of the following areas:
Selected Map Properties Area
The information selected in this area determines the appearance of the remainder of the Map Adjustment screen. This area consists of drop-down menus and checkbox options:
Drop-down Menus Map Number – This drop-down provides the title of the maps available for selection. These available selections depend upon the ECM.

How to Setup CNH DPA5 Work with CAT ET 2023A

CNH DPA5 support many other software working.Here in this instruction show you guide on how to setup CNH DPA5 work with CAT ET 2023A.


Preparations:

Procedures:
1. Start Program.
2. Click Utilities-->Preferences-->Communications from the menu bar.
3. Click on Communication Interface Device drop down box.
4. Select RP1210 Compliant Device.
5. Click Advanced
6. Select the correct DPA in the RP1210 Communication Adapter Device box.
7. Click OK
8. Check Enable Dual Data Link Service
9. Click OK.


CAT ET 2023A Notes:
Enable Dual Data Link. This checkbox should be “checked” in most cases. However, on some older J1708 (ATA) only vehicles, ET will not work with this checkbox checked. If ET does not connect, try “unchecking”, or “checking” this button.
 

The DPA product line does not support the CAT Data Link (CDL) protocol that is still common among certain CAT off-highway vehicles and industrial stationary equipment. CDL is a proprietary protocol and there are no generic adapters on the market that support this protocol.

To find out if your vehicle/equipment is CDL or a standard protocol (J1708/ATA, J1939), you should look at the diagnostic connector for that equipment in the service manual.

How to Change Engine Oil Filter for Caterpillar 950F Excavator

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing,adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to
collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.


Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, “Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide” for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar
products.
Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
1. Open the access door that is located on the left side of the machine.

2. Remove the filter element (1) with a strap type wrench. Inspect the filter.

3. Clean the filter mounting base with a clean cloth.Make sure that the used filter gasket has beencompletely removed.
4. Apply a thin film of clean engine oil to the sealing surface of the new filter element.
5. Install the new filter element by hand. When the gasket contacts the filter base, tighten the filter by an additional 3/4 turn.
6. Open the crankcase drain valve (2). Allow the oil to drain into a suitable container. Close the crankcase drain valve.
7. Open the access door that is located on the right side of the machine. Remove oil filler plug (3).
Fill the crankcase with new oil.

8. Clean the oil filler plug and install the oil filler plug.
9. Start the engine and allow the oil to warm. Check for leaks.
10. Check the engine oil level in dipstick (4).

correct procedure.
11. Stop the engine. Close the engine access doors.
