1. Use a soft wire and compressed air to clean orifices. Replace if condition is questionable.

IMPORTANT: A piston cooling orifice failure could  cause damage to pistons, piston pins, rod pin
bushings, and liners. If a piston cooling orifice  is left out, low or no oil pressure will result.

IMPORTANT: The 9 L engine has directed oil piston  cooling. Be certain orifice is installed in
proper orientation to liner bore.
2. Locate JDG1948 piston cooling orifice installation tool  (A) in main bearing diameter.

3. Coat 12 mm (1/2 in.) of piston cooling orifice with
LOCTITE® Threadlocker medium strength 242 (Blue), as shown.

NOTE: Installation tool and cooling orifice have matching surfaces to properly align orifice in
block. If surfaces are not aligned, the installation  screw can not be started.

4. Install piston cooling orifice (B) in block from liner  side, as shown. When tool and orifice are in proper alignment, the installation screw (C) will be in an up  position.
5. Assemble installation screw into cooling orifice with  fingers. This will begin to seat cooling orifice in block.
6. Tighten installation screw to specification to seat  orifice in block.

Specification
Piston Cooling Orifice into
Cylinder Block—Torque................................... 15—17 N·m (11—13 lb-ft)

7. Verify installation depth by removing screw (C) from installation tool. Reassemble screw loosely in
installation tool. The ring on the screw shank (D) should be even with or above top surface of tool.

If necessary: unlock brake pedals, set individually.
Place shims between buffer (1) and brake pedal (2) to provide a space of 3 mm.
This corresponds to a pedal travel of approx. 11 mm.
Connect X899.980.246.206 adapter cable only to S005 - Switch, right brake.
Connect multimeter (ohmmeter) to pin 3 and pin 4.
Push magnet (4) towards S005 - Switch, right brake until the ohmmeter displays a resistance of approx. 121 ohms (switch closed) Screw magnet (4) tight.

Remove shims (3 mm) from between the buffer (1) and the brake pedal (2).
N OTE: The setting for S006 - Switch, left brake is carried out in the same way
Checking setting of magnet for S005/S006 switch
Measure pin 3 and 4 with multimeter (ohmmeter).

Unlock brake pedals.
Brake pedal in rest position (solenoid switch closed).
(resistance approx. 121 ohms)
Slowly operate single wheel brake (the solenoid switch must open).
After the brake pedal has travelled approx. 28 mm, the S005 - Switch, right brake opens (resistance approx. 510 ohms).
When the brake pedal returns to its rest position, the S005 - Switch, right brake must close no later than 5 mm before the pedal reaches its rest position (resistance approx. 121 ohms)
N OTE: The check for the S006 - Switch, left brake is carried out in the same way.

Scania Truck Visibility System Main beam RH Trouble Code Repair

This instruction show you guide on how to repair Scania truck visibility system main beam RH trouble.

What you need?

Scania SDP3 Truck diagnostic software

Scania VCI3 Tool

Main beam RH
Error identification
The current consumption on the control unit output has exceeded 6A.

Cause
Short circuit in the relay for current consuming equipment R19 or in the cable harness.

Notes
Right-hand main beam is inoperative. Every time the function is activated, the current consumption on the control unit output is checked. If the current consumption is too high, the output is switched off and a fault code is registered. Right dipped beam will come on as replacement lighting.
If a fault is detected in the main beam circuit (right main beam), dipped beam will be switched on instead. The lights adjustment motor will then adjust the headlamp downwards as far as it will go due to internal connection between the dipped beam and the lights adjustment motor.

Action
Check the bulbs. Also, check the number of connected lamps in circuit. Check whether there is a short circuit to earth.
